CHIRLA staff joined 50-80 people representing several local and regional organizations today to say no to the series of raids Border Patrol agents have conducted during the month of June in the Inland Empire. The festive rally took place in front of the Riverside Border Patrol offices. Participants included a strong number of day laborers, community representatives, immigrant rights advocates, and family members of immigrants who have been detained and deported by BP. The Minutemen and women tried to shout us out but were unsuccessful. When the representatives of the different organizations attempted to deliver a letter to the BP office, Minutemen shot pictures of our faces and even pushed some of us around. All the while shouting "long live the Border Patrol". We also shouting "human rights, human rights". Below some photos.
