CHIRLA "Educating, Organizing, Advocating"

Today marks a special occasion for CHIRLA and its members as we all celebrate Martin Luther King's Birthday and his dream for respect and equality of all.

All of our members (25 in all) have made it as far as Richmond, Virginia and are now on our way to D.C..

In the morning, the group gathered and reflected on the journey that we were representing for thousands of undocumented families from Southern California. Everyone remarked that they brought with them a message for the new President for family unity, a stop to the raids, etc. "I am here representing my family and their needs for Immigration Reform in this historic week when this country inaugurates a new President and a new vision for a better country." said Elidia De Los Santos.

The twenty five ambassadors from Southern California will join other members from the California DREAM Network and allies from around the country. There is no doubt that tomorrow and Wednesday's activities are going to bring us closer to wining a Humane and Just immigration Reform.
