Community Education

CHIRLA responds to the critical need for reliable information within the immigrant community when new laws are adopted and/or immigration precedures change. CHIRLA also endeavors to help immigrants understand their civil and human rights. Community education is carried out via:

  • Face to face seminars;
  • Telephone calls and walk ins;
  • Trainings, townhall meetings, and resource fairs;
  • Media outreach campaigns.

CHIRLA's community education efforts include production of materials such as the Know Your Rights! DVD, which can be used by other organizations. More information about the DVD, including ordering information, can be found here.
