Miriam joined CHIRLA in 2000. She graduated as Chemical engineering in Havana, Cuba in 1994 and as an immigrant, has learned the difficulties of living in a foreign country, with different languages and cultures. For years she has handled thousands of calls a year through the toll-free CHIRLA Hotline. She recently completed an extensive paralegal training on Immigration issues. Miriam is currently the Community Education Coordinator at CHIRLA.
